Monday was the Fourth of July so our calendar read "Field Trip owns the day" and "Goal: learn about the traditions of celebrating the American Revolution." We read a few historical fiction and non-fiction books about the American Revolution. Then we celebrated in true American fashion with a BBQ and fireworks. (No pictures, I forgot the camera, oops.)
Tuesday the calendar stated "Field Trip owns the day" and "Goal: learn about careers in the medical field." Little M had a doctor's appointment with his pulmonologist at Children's Hospital.
Wednesday our calendar had another "Field Trip owns the day" with "Goals: learn about careers in animal veterinarian science and learn about common canine ailments such as hookworm and heartworm." The dog had a vet appointment. We found out last week he was positive for hookworm and needed some follow-up care this week. Very interesting reading by the way.
Thursday we finally got some "school work" done! But not until after we all attended our homeschool playgroup. We just started a really neat program for the playgroup we are calling Playground Passport Adventure. Each week the playgroup is meeting at a different park in the area. The kids all received passport booklets last week and each week they attend the playgroup the will get a different sticker commemorating their visit to that park.

Friday we had some more actual school work to complete even though Ms. Q had been trying to convince me to let her take off the whole week but she really does need to get through some more work before she's off for the summer. She's not the only one who's not interested in getting things done lately. I have been a very lazy blogger. It's not that I don't have any ideas to write about. At least three times a day a thought goes through my mind that I think would make a great blog post. I've just got to get out of these lazy days of summer!!

Love the playground passport, such a cute idea.
Being lazy in the summer is part of what it is all about...though I understand not wanting to always feel lazy. Sounds like you are at least getting out a lot, that's something!
Stopping by from the Say Hi Sunday Blog Hop!
Jess, that Playground Passport Adventure idea is sooo cute and clever. Enjoy your week and thanks for linking up at NOBH!
That playground passport idea is great! It sounds like your kids got a lot of learning done, even if it wasn't at a desk!
Out blog hopping. Nice to meet you. Feel free to stop by my blogs. Kim
